File - Operation

Use this option to maintain the Operations master file in MDS or MJC. Operations (or tasks) are the types of work your employees can perform. Each operation can be chargeable or non-chargeable and may apply to a particular customer. Each operation can be setup with an appropriate overhead recovery amount and associated hourly charge. The operation overhead is added to the employee rate to determine the cost to the job. The operation charge is used for do-and-charge jobs to determine the selling price.

Operations can also be used to track allowances such as travel, meals, site specific costs, etc.

 

Technical Tip

Markups entered in the markups table override the charges set for operations in the Operations master file - refer to "Edit - Applications - MJC - Markups".
